I was messing around in my pictures folder last night and came across these two from a few years ago. Boy, how time flies! I can't believe my oldest daughter is 15 and nearly ready to get her temps. The very idea that she'll be driving age next year terrifies me to no end. How did this happen? I'd swear yesterday they were both still playing with their stuffed animals.
Even crazier. My niece is turning 21 this month. Good lord! I remember her potty training days! She's going to college and grown into a gorgeous young woman. It's strange though, because I don't feel any older--until I look in the mirror. Whoa! How'd the years creep up on me? I have this overwhelming urge to turn back the clock so I can get all those precious years back again. Do you ever have those days? Where you just feel as if you've woken up from a long sleep and somehow several years have just breezed right by? Is this like a mid-life crisis thing or something?
I keep imagining my daughters graduating and going off to college, getting married, having babies and leaving me in the dust. I'll be the annoying mother they avoid. Ugh! Can someone please stop this runaway train?! I want off! LOL

Every day I shake my head over this very same thing. Most of my friends know I've been going through major home construction and it's required me to go through closets and drawers. I couldn't believe the things I've saved and I was tearing up over some of the things I found. Locks of baby hair from both children, a tiny newborn diaper that was so cute I just had to save it.
My son is now 22 and my daughter a high school senior in the process of applying for college. WOW.
My daughter just turned 5.
I still can't believe it.
It's crazy. My kids are younger but it still amazes me how fast the time flies. My oldest will be five in February and my youngest one is December. It's crazy. My oldest is so self sufficent! It's like she thinks she's 16.
Forgot to say cute pictures!
Hey Anne, my boys are 24 & 14,& yes time flies. I have a video of my youngest son when he was 15 months old,& everytime I see it,I want to pick him up out of it & hold him to me. But I try to focus on the postive(if not I think I'd cry),that hubby & I will have time all to ourselves,& maybe someday I'll even have grandbabies.
thanks,Cindy
Regina--I've done the same, saving things that make no sense to them, but means SO much to me. I have a trunk full of their school papers and pictures and just all sorts of things. I open it and her come the tears.
Amy--I remember when mine started Pre-K. It was soooooo hard to see her leaving me. I just wanted to keep her with me always!
Kelley--Kati was my independant one. She still is. I'd want to walk her to the bus, and she'd tell me it wasn't necessary. LOL
Cindy--I hear you about the grandbabies! I already told them they better let me babysit when they have kids! LOL
Argh! Stop reminding me that time flies, Anne! Eeek! It'll be only another 8 years before my oldest is ready to try his hand at driving--NOT ready for that day to come ;)
Driving??? I remember looking at my irresponsible 15 1/2 yr old son and thinking of him behind the wheel of a potentially deadly weapon. Scared the crap out of me. Fortunately it all worked out fine. LOL
flchen1--I'm sooooo with you. Can't we just lock them in the basement? LOL
Regina--Oh lordy, you took the words right out of my mouth. Kati, a car, and a highway?! *shudders*
Awwww, Kati and Alisha are way too cute!!!
Girl, one of my "babies" turned 30 today. Now her married with 3 kids didn't bother me but her turning 30 has just killed me. ; -)
