In a slump....

You ever have those slumps where you just can't figure out what you want to read? I mean, I know there are tons of good books out there just waiting for me to devour them. Heck, I probably have some pretty spectacular books in my TBR pile but at this moment...none of them are calling to me. I'm not in the mood to read anything I have here, but I don't know what kind of mood I'm in (see my problem? LOL).

I hate it when I get in these slumps. I know it has something to do with the fact that I have WAY too much on my plate right now. I'm busy, busy, busy so I think, subconsciously, I'm not letting myself get into anything because it will take up my time. On the other hand, I go CRAZY if I'm not reading. It's my escape, the way I wind down after a long day and we all need that, right?

So, tell me what you're reading! I need some recs so I can take a relaxing trip to the bookstore and find a few books to feed my soul before I go insane. LOL.

I am having that same problem myself! I have hundreds of books here and cannot decide what to pick up. So what did I do? I went on amazon and ordered more! Then this morning I got up and hit Borders. I wanted to try this new author, Louisa Edwards, the book is called Can't Stand The Heat, and I have heard much buzz about it. I am 2 chapters in and so far I love it!
Good luck sifting through your TBR pile!

When I'm in a reading slump I tend to pick up anthologies. It provides shorter stories and more variety. One or two anthologies usually gets me back reading other stuff because I seem to figure out what I'm really wanting.

So many really good books are out now. Anything by Moira Rogers is fun and hot. Also Resplendence Publishing has some fun reads out and the Ladies of Legend has expanded to include stories from the 60's and 70's. In print is GA Aiken's new dragon book What A Dragon Should Know and Jaquelyn Frank has a new book out. Visiting Borders or B&N always puts me in a good mood.

Cindy--Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed Rand and Lucy!

Regina--Thanks! :)

Molly--Thanks a bunch! I hope you like "Burn"!

Kelley--I like Connie's idea. Anthologies are fun and quick and a lot of times I find new authors that way.

Erin,
LOL, you should like me! I'm always getting new books when I don't need them.

Connie, good idea about the anthologies. Funny, I don't have any of those in my TBR.

I've actually won several but I've bought a bunch to get short stories from some of my fav authors so I have a few to read when I want a change.

I'm reading something like 40 books right now...but if I were to suggest only one I'd say Natsuo Kirino's "Real World" is the best of them.
