Birthday fun!

So, tomorrow is my birthday. Yay! I turn 42 and I'm feeling very good about it! But, since it falls on a weekday my husband and kids decided to take me out yesterday to celebrate instead.

First we went to Abuelo's mexican restaurant. I had two margaritas and cheesecake for dessert. Yum! We had the best waiter ever too! He made my birthday meal quite wonderful. He got a big tip, of course! :)

Afterwards we headed to the IMAX theater and watched the new "A Christmas Carol" with Jim Carrey. It was in 3-D and it ROCKED!!! OMG!! I loved this movie! It was the best way to celebrate my birthday. The kids and hubby and I had such a great time! I hope you all get a chance to see this movie. It really put me in the holiday spirit! I'm SO ready to put up the tree now!

This was the best way for me to celebrate my birthday. A good meal and a wonderful movie with my family. Awesome! (there was also a little mommy and daddy time later in the evening, but we won't go into those details. LOL)

So, tell me, are you all ready for the holidays??!! Do you shop all year long or are you a last minute sort of shopper? Do you put your tree up at a certain time every year? We usually do it Thanksgiving weekend. Then take it down after New Year's.

I also need to report that Lauranne Dohner is the winner of Laura Breck's 'goodie bag' and should contact her at Laura@LauraBreck.com to claim her prize. Congrats! :)

AWWWW, happy birthday tomorrow. We often do the same if a birthday falls during the week instead of a weekend. You just have more time to play! I looooove Abuelo's! My favorite things are the avacado enchildas, shredded beef enchildas, and the Yucatan Shrimp. OMG...you have officially made me hungry. And their Tequila Lime Cheesecake is sooooo good.

I've actually already started my Christmas shopping. It's not going to be too tough this year. Most of the items are BIG things. So not many small gifts under the tree. We always get the Christmas tree up the Saturday after Thanksgiving and have it down by New Years Eve. ACK. Tough job!

Happy Birthday Anne.

My Christmas tree is already up. The year has been such a trial with my dh's health that I thought the family could use something to look forward to.

Happy Birthday! You sound like you had a great time! That's my favorite kind of birthday too only we don't go out. LOL. 4 kids = renting or buying a movie I really wanted to see and my favorite take out but I get to cuddle with the hubby. LOL.

I shop all year round, hitting sales, and fill the 'no no' closet the kids aren't allowed near. I keep a mobile book cart in front of it filled with my favorite books and it's so heavy... they can't move it to peek. LOL. I put up our fake white tree with lights around Dec 15th. (Alergic to the real ones I'm afraid). I take the tree down the day after Christmas because we have 4 cats who think it's cool to try to sleep in the tree and without the presents piled under to keep them out... my tree acts like a drunk. It can't stand up for long and crashes over often. LOL.

Thanks for letting me know about winning! I emailed her. Have a great week!

Sounds like a wonderful time! Happy Birthday!

I can't wait to see the movie.

I normally shop all year, but this year hasn't been conducive to it. But I've started and it feels good. I love the holidays, buying things I know others want and will love. Decorating and plans for all the treats. My tree doesn't go up until after Jarrod's birthday on Dec 11.

Tequila Lime Cheesecake sounds amazing. I'm passing a hint onto Jarrod -- every few years, he makes me a Key Lime cheesecake that is better than I've ever had anywhere.
