I have a new laptop and I admit, I'm in love with it! :) It's a Dell and as you can see by the picture it's cherry red. SOOOO pretty!
I've never had my own laptop. Up to now I've always used the desktop computer for my writing, email, internet browsing, whatever. Last night, once everything was all transferred over, I sat in bed and just basically explored the thing. It's just so cool that I'll finally be able to sit in bed at night and write. Or read! I don't have tons of ebooks, because I didn't really have anything to read them on. The Sony ereader I have just...isn't for me. It's complicated and half the time I just can't figure it out. But, I'm really looking forward to purchasing more ebooks now that I can read in bed, on the couch, at the park, wherever. Love it!!
Besides being over the moon about my new baby, I also had a great weekend at RT. I met my editor from The Wild Rose Press, Amanda Barnett. She's a super nice lady. I bought her a margarita and we chatted for hours! It was great to finally see her in person!
AND, I finally got to meet the mega talented Scott Carpenter. You all probably know this, but Scott has done all my Samhain covers and he's the creative genius behind our blog header and icons. And if that's not enough, Scott is also a damn good author. I have several of his books. So, it was really fun to meet him in person. He, my husband and I had a nice time talking about pretty much everything, then we went up to the Samhain party and I had the chance to visit with a few of their editors and authors. I met Lorelei James for the first time ever. She's a really nice lady. Enjoyed talking to her. And I saw some other familar faces as well. Mari Carr, Lexxie Couper, Jayne Rylon and others. I didn't get to see Valerie or Jambrea, unfortunately, but I'll see them in June at the Lori Foster Event, so it's all good. :)
How nervous was I? Well, very! LOL I don't do large crowds and the RT Con is a VERY large crowd. But my editor and Scott both made me feel very welcome. Scott in particular was a really big help introducing me to several people at the Samhain party. I think I would've stood awkwardly in the corner the entire time had he not been there! LOL And my husband went as well, so that was nice. He puts up with my anxiety and goes to these events with me and I'm pretty sure I don't deserve him.
At any rate, all in all a really great weekend with friends. And no, no pictures. I sort of hate having my picture taken. So, ya know... lol
and to give you all a Monday wake up...

Hi Aurora--Does that Kindle for PC cost money? If so how much?
Madison--Thanks, I do love the red! :)
Madison--I thought you had an ereader. Didn't you win one at the Lori Foster event??
Anna--Thanks!! It's so pury! :D

i have the same laptop but mine is ice blue and i love mine too it's my first as well
Lissa--I didn't realize how nice it would be to have my OWN laptop. I'm always having to share with the kids or whatever. This is mine. Bought with MY money and it's so darned pretty! Worth every penny!
Jennifer--Oooh! I've seen the ice blue. VERY pretty!!! :)
Congratulations, Anne!
Kindle PC is free and works great.
I don't know that I could ever go back to sitting at a desk.
Ooooh, pretty!
When I get mine, it will be either purple, pink, or red. Some 'feminine' color the daughter wouldn't be caught dead using, hahahaha!
Bekki--Oh! Thanks for letting me know! I'm going to see about downloading that!
Molly--My oldest LOVES pink! Truthfully, I think she's a bit jealous that I have a laptop that's the typical black. LOL
