I want to go back on vacation!

I'm back, did you miss me? *grin* I know, I know, you didn't even notice I was missing. Where'd I go? Bar Harbor, Maine. My kids, husband and I spent last week enjoying the cool ocean breeze, eating lobster, hiking through Acadia National Park and basically just reconnecting as a family.

We all needed this break.

You know what I love about vacation? It's not the location or all the exhausting activities. It's simply getting away from all the stress of work! The phone ringing off the hook. The daily chores that pile up. Family drama. Errands! It all gets put on hold for one week out of the year as we spend time getting to know each other again. It's so easy to drift apart, isn't it? My kids are teenagers now and my husband has a pretty demanding job. Not to mention that being an author usually means spending hours and hours a day on the laptop. Even though we live in the same house it's easy to become ships passing in the night. Vacation means laughing together, sharing silly stories, not bothering with makeup, eating junk food and staying up way too lat.

Going to Bar Harbor has become our thing. This year there seemed to be several things attempting to keep us from going there. None of us were willing to admit defeat though. We were determined to make this happen. We just NEEDED to get away.

Here are a few pix!

Me and the girls...this was taken at Seawall...very cool place to watch the ocean crash against the rocks.

Rosalie's Pizza, the best pizza in Bar Harbor!

The girls acting silly. I love seeing them laughing and getting along so well. :)

Otter Cliffs, Acadia National Park...gorgeous here!

Piling our stuff into the bed & breakfast we stayed at. It was nice, if a bit cramped.

Me and Alisha attempting to stay on the rock. The breeze was awesome here.

Katilyn enjoying the scenery

Alisha loves the ocean. She could've watched the waves for hours.

The three of us. I think this is at Otter Cliffs.

the four mile hiking trail. It was supposed to be one mile. We took a wrong turn. LOL It was great fun!

Downtown Bar Harbor. We stopped to eat some ice cream and I snapped a picture.

We took a million pictures, but I don't have it in me to post them all. At any rate, a great time away with my husband and kids. :)

Also, don't forget that tomorrow my NEWEST Samhain story releases! Yay! "What She Wants" is the start of a series. Check it out here

Love love love the pics, Anne. What a pretty bunch of girls! I didn't know Alisha had put blue in her hair. Tell her for me that it looks great. I'd already seen Miz K's color. What a lovely spot. I'd love to go there one day.

I grew up just outside Bangor Maine at least until we moved to Florida when I was 12. I spent one whole summer on Mount Desert Island camping it was so much fun. My mom is looking to move back to Maine and if she does and is willing then I will be moving back there with her so I will get to spend time in Bar Harbor again.

Regina--I love Alisha's hair too. It was one of the things she wanted to do this summer. The only problem is the blue seems to fade faster than Kati's pink, which is a little annoyingly expensive. LOL

Dianna--We want to move to Bar Harbor SO bad! Well, the kids don't, but mom and dad do. LOL Someday that's our goal!
