A New Review & A NEW Contest!!

Imagine my smiling face this morning as I woke up and found this terrific review waiting for me!

Dark Diva Reviews gives "What She Wants" 5 delightful divas and a recommended read!

Deb says: "Ms. Rainey has yet another hit on her hands with her new book What She Wants. This fun, sexy book flowed so smoothly that I didn’t realize I was at the end till I noticed it was the last page." Read the full review HERE

Lately, I've been really depressed. Haven't felt like smiling much. The kids are going back to school next week and I'm really not looking forward to it--not even a little bit. So, when I saw that review it made me feel extra good! I needed the boost! (Thank you, DEB!) I don't know what it is about this time of year, but it's definitely not my fave. Last night, as my husband and I sat out on the deck sipping a glass of wine, we talked about this problem of mine. We sort of came up with a solution. We plan to take a winter vacation. A mini one. Something to break up the monotony. Where we live winter seems to go on forever. Gray skies. Dreary, cold weather. Icy roads. No freaking end in sight! The plan? We're going to find a nice little cabin somewhere, maybe Tenn., and take off for about three days. Just go off the grid completely. Enjoy some family time, drink hot chocolate, wake up late, catch up on some reading (bringing my ereader!). Hell, I'm already looking forward to it!

On another note! Mt first release with Ellora's Cave, Ride of Her Life, is coming out next Thursday, August 26th. I'm psyched! To celebrate--early--I'm having a contest today. All you have to do is leave me a comment. Tell me all about your ideal vacation. Is it in Hawaii with a hot hunk and lots of margaritas? A toasty cabin in the Smoky Mts. with your honey and zero interruptions? Or something completely different? You tell me! Winner to be announced HERE tomorrow. The prize? One ebook from my current releases AND a copy of Ride of Her Life (once it releases, I'll foward a copy to the winner).

To recreate my honeymoon. It was wonderful! Definitely the best vacation ever. Hubby and I went on a week-long Hawaiian cruise and stayed in Honolulu for two extra nights. We did excursions most days and... well, you can imagine what happened at night! *grin*

I love that idea! I'm sure the end of summer can be hard when you know you're facing a long, deary winter soon. I think the mini vacation will be just what you need!

Glad you got a good review to make you smile! Congrats.

I would love to go to Scotland or Ireland and visit a ton of castles. I've always wanted to do that. Hubby and I would love to go to Italy one day too (I don't dream small do I) LOL.

Hi Anne congrats on the latest great review of your stories (no surprise)! I'm just rereading Body Rush, and in my ideal vacation I will be doing some reading and lots of relaxing in one of those private cabanas or whatever at some elegant but non-snobby oceanside resort! Maybe throw in some spa treatments. And my husband too of course. I'm glad you have some getaway plans - they're always something nice to look forward to.

Great review, Anne. And I can't wait to read your upcoming EC release. I'm not entering your contest. lol I think I'll leave that to all the loyal 3WW followers, but I did want to say that you and I must be on the same wavelength. Only we've done nothing this summer. Too many family situations and summer school classes with the college kid. So we're planning a Thanksgiving vacation to the beach. And we may go back in January as well. I love the beach in cold weather. And I'll be sipping on a margarita when I get there for sure.

Our family beach vacations have been my favorites. Lots of laughter, beautiful beaches and warm tropical water, lots of great memories.

Now that my kids are older, wouldn't mind a spa vacation. Doesn't a little pampering sound heavenly?

I have to mention two places that I consider my best vacation. The first is Bermuda, with the blue skies, blue water amd pink sand. It's close enough to be considered home. The second is Hawaii. Again, beutiful blue skies, blue warm water, and black sand. Taking a cruise around the islands meant that unpacking only had to be done once. My family and I enjoyed both immensely.

My ideal vacation is a place I go in St Augustine. You step off the deck and you're on the beach.
It was very relaxing this year and I tried to catch up my TBR stack.

I'm with Madison! I'd love to go to either Scotland or Ireland and maybe get to know a great guy with of those awesome accents!

My other ideal holiday would be either in a cabin or on a tropical island with someone other than my family who loves me! (Sigh)

I usually don't go anywhere on vacation I just stay at home a read a couple of good books. I would love someday to go to Italy,Ireland or Scotland. I probably won't ever go but it is nice to dream about. If you go to Tenn. make sure and check the weather and not go there during the snowy months because it's a lot like Ky. we don't have a lot of snow but when we due most people can't drive worth anything in it.

Hi everyone -

My ideal vacation would be to travel all around Italy, drink wine, and meet hot men! Still looking for mister right so I'm keeping my eyes open. After Italy would be to head over to Ireland/Scotland and find my own Gerard Butler.

Congrats on your release!

Ooh, my ideal vacation? My kids safely off somewhere (with relatives?) and my husband and I off by ourselves, maybe in some gorgeous part of Asia where we can explore, and relax, and I can read in the downtime :) Ah...

Huge congrats, Anne! Can't wait for your new read!

My idea vacation would be at a metal detecting convention/hunt on a beach with a HAWT detecting hunk partner. After the hunts, a nice walk on a sunset beach, dinner/dancing and an evening of sensual delights. A perfect vacation!
Congrats on the great review of "What She Wants", I can't wait for "Ride Of Her Life".

My ideal vacation, hmmm.... It would have to include that hot hunk who just understands me. Lots of alone time is a must. As well as plenty of leisure reading material as that is one my favorite ways to pass the time. As for the where? Eastern Europe, on the beach in Italy, or even in a secluded cabin. As long as the weather is warm, not humid or too hot, it will be perfect.

Ideal vacations for me... One would be Hawaii to relax on the beach with the man I love and the other would be England, Ireland, and Scotland, places where my favorite historical romances take place.

A winter vacation sounds like a wonderful idea for you and the family. Everybody needs some downtime.

Congrats on the great review!

Ideal vacation..redo our honeymoon. A couple of days with nothing to do in the Bahamas but check out the tide pools and walking together. We were able to do this one other time and it still rates as the best ever.

It would be somewhere on the beach. The boys would be on their best behavior. We would love to go to Greece.

My ideal vacation would have to be a cruise, with my sweety. And being that I am totally unusual it would be a Disney cruise lol. Along with the days at Disney world. I am a total kid at heart. Not to mention the fact that my sweetheart has NEVER been to a theme park. I so need to fix that one...

A perfect vacation includes being at a private getaway preferably a cabin or cottage (loaded with books & ebooks) by the beach with a catering staff so that I can read to my heart's content while at the same time indulging my every culinary craving.

OK, mine is rather funny really. I would love to go to Hawaii for a family vacation with my son but I want to be able to see them filming the new Hawaii Five-0 and Meet Alex O'Loughlin while I'm there. LOL

I loved your new book! It definitely deserved the awesome review!

I live where there is no winter or autumn. I would love to go up north during autumn to stay at a B&B with my husband and just enjoy the small towns and changing leaves.

As for a vacation I'd love to go to a cabin somewhere like Ruidoso New Mexico and have a surprise hunk show up lol

A great vacation would be where I did not have to do dishes, did not have to clean up after anyone, do not have to cook, wash clothes/dry and fold, where I do not have to think for everyone else... Okay... so I guess my trip would be away from everyone in my family, lmbo.. and with all my girl friends (rl and online). A big slumber party... yep, where we were all waited on hand and foot by gorgeous men who did everything for us!

Okay... I woke up sorry!
Congrats on doing something to get out of your funk!! Hugs honey!

I would love to go to Japan and stay in a pagoda or temple. The culture over there is so unique and they have amazing. I absolutely love sushi.

Madison....Ireland is an amazing place to visit. I went there 3 years ago and it is so beautiful. Everything is a brilliant shade of green. If you don't mind traffic I would recommend going around St. Patrick's Day. The parade in Dublin is phenomenal. :D

Anne your book sounds wonderful!

All these fantastic vacation ideas! Love the romantic cruise, I've always wanted to go on a cruise. Ireland, OMG, yes!! Australia would be a lot of fun too! And the Italy vacation is a dream of mine. I would love to go there and bring my entire family. I'd probably stay for like a month. LOL And the seven wonders of the world, yes! That would be awesome, and inspiring to a writer, I'd think.
