Get Crazy with Me! You Know You Want To...

Oooooh, shiver me timbers! Why I started this post as a pirate I have no idea, but there you go. Put it down to my eccentricity, there’s a dear.

Well, I’m feeling downright diggy today and no mistake. Sometimes life can get you down, we all know that, but other times, even though our troubles are still lingering, we get some kind of internal boost where we’re able to cope with things much better. Some say it’s to do with the stars/planets and their alignment, and d’you know, part of me believes that. Whatever the stars and planets have done over the past couple of days I don’t care—just so long as it continues. I feel a sense of a weight having been lifted from my shoulders, even though nothing different has happened to cause this.

Well, it has. The kids went back to school. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love the products of my body dearly, but a woman needs time to be herself as well as being a mother. I’ve always told my kids this: I may be your mother, but I’m also a human being with needs, wants, and desires of my own—just like you!

Who says when you become a mother you have to dress like you were born in the 1940s, complete with ugly perm and a selection of cardigans? Who says you can’t let your hair down and get drunk, do something crazy if that’s what floats your boat? So, I’m feeling more like my old self now that I have some peace to think, to just worry about ME today and no one else. Hmm. I guess it isn’t the stars and planets after all.

So, ladies, shirk off your motherly mantles today, and if you’re not a mother and have other responsibilities to deal with, tell them, just for this day, to bugger off. Yes! You can do this. Think of what you want, what you’d like to do. And with that in mind, tell me now: What would you do today if money was no object, time constraints didn’t exist, and you had no responsibilities whatsoever?

Me? I’d walk the couple of miles to the local airfield, pay for a glider ride, and get up there in the clouds. Then I’d do a parachute jump, landing conveniently in a field where a bungee jump is set up. I’d bungee away, bouncing like a loony and scream my head off until I lost my voice. I’d revel in the adrenaline rush, crack up laughing for no reason whatsoever, and have the sense that today, today I damn well LIVED!

Come on, share your crazy yearnings with me!

I'd like to take a trip. Maybe a private yacht cruise. Sail the Greek Islands.

Now about that walk to the airfield. Ummm...you have lots of money, honey. Take a cab.

I love playing "imagine". Sometimes it's the only thing that gets me through the day. sighhhhh

I forgot about money being no object. Still, the walk would do me good.

That private cruise sounds lovely. I might take one myself after the bungee jump and wave at you across the water. LOL

I'd love to hike a crossed Europe or maybe a road trip across the US as long as the hubby's not driving lol.

Hey, Nanny! Good to see you.

My DH wants to the the US road trip. Too bad we live in the UK. Mind you, we could do the European one. Thing is, he's already been to several places, unlike me, who is a homebody, so it wouldn't be as much fun for him a second time.

I'd like to go see Yellowstone, Mt. Rushmore, anywhere in the northwest US as I haven't been up there. Just tootle along stopping and starting whenever I feel like it.

I had to laugh at the pirate thing!!!! Last night someone said something about PIRATES (the ebook thief ones) and I had this insane urge to say ARRRRRR. The moon seems to effect my moods...off the wall thoughts, etc. So there might be something to that business.

Well, I just got up so my brain isn't fully functioning BUT if I could do something today I'd go to NY City and catch a broadway show. I'd have a wonderful lunch somewhere (with a group of friends, of course)and maybe stroll through some museums. Now THAT would be today. One the next day, I'd head to the mountains and find a beautiful cozy cabin, open all the windows and breathe. Nice.

Hmm... I'd get one of those super luxurious RV and drive across country. Then take a first class charter flight to Australia.

:)

Oh Anny. Tootling along sounds lovely. Can you just imagine it? No phones, watches, nothing. Just the urge to do whatever you felt like. I wanna go with you.

Reg, LMAO @ ARRRR. Sort of thing I'd want to do.

I was telling DH the other day how I want to pretend to be posh one day and go to the theatre. I couldn't handle opera or the ballet, but something like a Broadway show would be fun. Just once, to see what it's like.

And that cabin. I want to live in one. Middle of nowehere. Lovely.

Hey Valerie!

You guys saying what you want to do makes me see we all have similar wants--or that I just want to do everything you guys want to do haha! Yeah, I'm a dream stealer.

One of our dreams is owning an RV and just buggering off each weekend to random places for the hell of it. Oh, wouldn't it be sooooo nice?

I want to go back to Disney World for an entire WEEK and ride everything! (Well, okay...not everything...I'd skip the Tower of Terror and Space Mtn!) And then go over to Universal...Sea World...and Busch Gardens.

I would rent a big room, have it stocked with oil paints, thinner, brushes and canvases and paint all day long.

I'm a big fan of Bob Ross and I enjoy painting those happy little trees and gorgeous skies he does...hehe!!!

Nothing so exciting for me. I just want to shop. I want to buy all new things for everybody, and fill my house up with all kinds of lovely.

Consumerism run rampant!

Great advice! Bugger off! I'll try that next time and see if it works! Thanks Natalie!

Natalie Dae said...

Always Abigail...I'm going to steal your dream too. Castles. Yum!

Natalie Dae said...

Jaime...LOL @ all kinds of lovely.

Natalie Dae said...

Darah... Do it! It'll feel so naughty to actually say it and then amusing to watch their faces when they register what you've said! Laughing here at the thought of you doing it.

Hi again,

I just did a pic today. Bob Ross's technique is fantastic and I can do a pic in about an hour or even less.

Will do another one tomorrow morning before the kids get up.
