Computer Issues, still

So, I can't get images to show here. I'm betting this has to do with the fact I'm using an ancient desktop computer. I miss my laptop! I hadn't realized how much I'd come to rely on that pretty red device until I had to ship it out for repair. Which brings me to my topic today. What items do you consider necessary in your life? Like, you'd never want to live without them? Remember, I said items, this doesn't include family and friends, that's a given. LOL

Here's a list of things I'd absolutely hate to lose:

My Laptop. Clearly that's the most important thing to me. As an author I use that sucker daily. It's like a mechanic without his tools. I'm going crazy without it! Ugh!

My Nook Color. I have officially switched from paperbacks to ebooks. I walked into a store the other day and saw a book I'd been waiting on, a new release. I passed it up and my daughter said, "I thought you liked that author. Aren't you going to buy her book?" I told her I'd rather have it on my Nook and she laughed. Mostly because I'm not a gadgety type of person and my daughters know it. Until recently, that is!

My Droid Global. I never ever carried a cell phone before now. I had one, but only for emergencies. The only time I used it was while the girls were in school, it was just a way for them to get in touch with me if they needed to. But the Droid my daughters and husband got me for Christmas is awesome! I love being able to post to Facebook, check email, play games and music, take pictures, browse the internet and even read ebooks. How'd I ever survive without it? Seriously?

My DVD Collection. Okay, I admit it, I love movies. It's my favorite thing to do, besides read and write. I love all types of movies, too. Sci-fi, suspense, thrillers, comedies, b&w classics, and kids movies. If the house was burning down and my family was out safe, I just might take a second to grab my Alfred Hitchcock Collection. LOL! Not really, but I'd cry over the loss, that's for damn sure!

So, what would you hate to lose? What things would you never want to live without? I can't be the only one addicted to their gadgets! :)

My laptop, every two years I get a new one with all the bells and whistles I want. But even though I'm a geek, I haven't been able to justify buying a Nook... although the color ones... sigh. And even though I'm a geek, even my cellphone can't take the place of my laptop. I can do everything on it,except carry it into the bathroom to read. *grin*

This post is proof positive that you don't need anything fancy to write on a great topic. Tops on my list is my computer. I prefer a desktop to a laptop but it's a much have for me. I go NUTS if it's out of commission. Two-my Nook and Three- my netbook. My netbooks keeps me portable while traveling and I tend to do a lot of that lately. Four-my IPOD Touch. I take a lot of trips through areas where the radio just SUCKS. It sure helps the time pass quickly.

Hey. Sorry. My list keeps growing...lol. I have a beautiful big tv in my office. It's awesome to be able to listen to music, catch the news between writing breaks. Love having it in here.

Gadgets I Cannot Live Without:
-Computer (I prefer my desktop, but have rapidly noticed the need for laptop!)

-Ereader (I have Sony Pocket)

-Cell Phone (currently, it is the only phone in the house with both text and calling minutes:)

-DVD player...I'll admit, I've gotten addicted to my TV episodes on DVD, esp the ones no longer in syndication!

-CDs and player (Until I get an iPod...)

And let's not forget the appliances...washer, dryer, and especially the DISHWASHER (I reeeeaaaaaallly miss mine!)

I couldn't live without my MP3 player or my computer (I actually prefer a desktop, I tend to destroy laptops). I write far better if I'm listening to music. Also, I saw Molly list appliances and I'd have to say I agree with that. My motto: I hate to cook, I love to eat; but since I must cook to eat I will always do it well!

Couldn't live without my laptops (yes, I have two and need them both LOL), iPad (it totally rocks), iPhone, heating pad, soaps and lotions from LUSH (such yummy smells), central Air and Heat, and last, but not least Chocolate!

My computer, of course. My Diet Coke and Coffee. My cell phone. And saltine crackers and peanut butter.

If you take those things away from me I'd be like the witch on The Wizard of Oz...

Bye bye Tess.
