I'm blank

Have you ever just had nothing to say? Like zero. Nada. It's like doing a school report. I keep trying to come up with something jazzy, but the truth is, I'm blank today. Maybe it's the dreary weather, maybe I just have nothing to say though. There doesn't always have to be a reason, right?
So, because there's nothing for me to chat about, I decided to ask you a question that's been on my mind lately. Heroes that turn into jerks. I've been reading a lot of Lora Leigh and I think she does such a fantastic with her Alphas that I wonder why alll authors can't do such a great job. Truth is, some authors do cross that line. Their heroes turn into jerks and you just want to strangle them. Hell, if they were in the same room, we probably would.
What is it for you? What makes a good Alpha? And what makes you want to throw the book at the wall?

I've had days like that. I'm so mad because I thought of a really good blog topic while laying in bed Saturday night. I remember there was a good question I could ask with it too but now for the life of me I can't remember the topic! It's so frustrating because I'm needing new things to say too, LOL.

Anne - That's why I don't blog every day. I can make up stuff, but ask me to write something non-fiction - forget it! :)

For me, a good Alpha takes what he wants - and his woman may protest verbally, but he's so yummy she can't possibly deny him anything.

Books which become wall-bangers . . . Hmmm. Oh yes, I can't stand whiney heroines.

:)

No worries, we all get that. The weather does suck royally.

I don't like Alpha's that get too domineering and jerk like.

Zsadist is my perfect Alpha hero. :) Hard on the outside and soft on the inside. :)

Amy, are you talking Zadist from the Black Dagger Brotherhood? I really liked him too. He had that rotten bad boy scare you to death kind of persona but inside you knew he was hurting and a good person. I loved his story.

Kelley, it's crazy that we chatty gals could possibly have nothing to say, isn't it? LOL I do hope your topic comes to you!

Shiela--That's exactly how I feel today, just totally disconnected.

Genella--I agree, the 'I'll make you love every minute of it' heroes are hot!

Amy--I agree with you. And Z was hot! Also Jacques from the Dark Desire. Alpha, but with a soft core.

Oh yes Sheila, Z from DBD.

Is there any other? ;)

I love the Jerk/Alpha hero. I love the dominance, the arrogance and I love it when they finally fall to their knees for the women. What I can't stand is the Alpha " I don't need a man for anything, because I'm Superwoman and can do it all myself" typ of heroine. That's what makes me want to throw the book against the wall. I think it's great for a woman to be independent, but a smart woman knows when it's time to ask ( a man) for help.

I ssoooo hear you on drawing a blank. I have a bad virus right now and tomorrow I have to be snappy, jazzy and interesting. Hmmm. Don't think that's gonna happen. HA.

A popular NY Times bs author has the jerkiest heroes I've ever read. They are so bad, I don't read her work anymore. H/H will have hot steamy sex and the next morning, hero calls her names and treats her soooo badly. I can't stand that.

VA Half Pint--I'm SOOOOO with you! I hate those types of heroines, it really makes me crazy!

Regina--sorry you were sick! I hate stomach bugs!

I will forever be loyal to Rhett Butler. I don't know if he is considered alpha, but he is confident, elegant, refined, intelligent and follows his own code of honor. Too sexy!

I hate the GI Jane heroines. Sorry honey you can't kick Mike Tyson's ass I don't care how many stripes are on your black belt. I like the heroines to be fun, and ladylike.
sexy isn't slutty and smart isnt smart aleck. Give her something to like other than a nice rack. I rolled my eyes when a multi published author described the heroines "flaming hair and glorious breasts" no less than six times on a page! Give me a break!
she was such a money grubber it really turned me off.
