Under the weather

We've been under the weather a lot at my house the past couple weeks. It seems like as soon as one of us gets over something, another one gets sick and it starts all over again.

I'm taking that as a sign we need to slow down and take care of ourselves a little better. Rest more, eat better and pamper each other. Spend more time cuddling on couch rather than just running and running. Maybe taking the time to recoup will help us at the Scott household get on our feet again.

Today I'm not going to do any work. No writing, researching or even cleaning! I'm going to spend the day taking care of my kiddos and cuddled up on the couch with them and my copy of Lover Mine.

Are you in need of a day of relaxing?

It seems that once you have one kiddo in school, this kind of stuff really starts. She'll catch something there and bring it home. Prepare yourself. This is a neverending thing. Relax and cuddle them. It's about the onlyl thing you can do.

I'm taking a 'day off' too. Just finished Trouble in a Stetson and sent to my editor last night. Yesteday I lived on coffee and red bulls. Yeesh! Will probably take some notes on the next shifter and catch up on some housework.

Let me know what you think of Lover Mine. I don't know whether to buy it or not and I trust your judgment.

Regina is right - once the little ones start school, they bring home all sorts of things. Friends of mine went through the same thing last month. Moms a teacher and her two little girls are in school. After passing it around to each other three times, they finally took the girls to grandma's, bought a bunch of cleaning supplies and cleaned the house floor to ceiling. No one's gotten sick sense.

I always enjoyed cuddle days with my kids. Now that three of them are adults, I settle for phone calls.

I might have to try the go to grandmas and clean like crazy thing. I'm hoping they're all done. It's so hard when little ones are sick.

Sorry you guys have been under the weather! I know how you feel. When mine were in grade school it was like one of was sick all the time. I'll never forget the horrible day one of them came home itching. I noticed it because she couldn't stop scratching her head. After a few minutes of looking at her closer I knew true terror. Lice. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. And because I have such a phobia about bugs I cleaned. And threw out. And bagged up. And basically went crazy on the house, the bedding, the clothes, everything I could clean, I cleaned. I kept it from spreading to the rest of us, thankfully. Found out later that the school was responsible. Apparently they were putting all the kids hats and gloves and scarves together on one big shelf. Uh, how stupid can you get?? Well, one kid had lice. So, when they put all those hats together, it spread like wildfire. Several kids ended up with it. I was NOT a happy camper.

I'm not even going to get started on the time Alisha broke her finger on recess and the school made her go to class. I didn't get a call until the end of the day, after her finger had swelled to more than twice the size and had turned black and blue.

In a lot of ways, I'm grateful mine are older now. Those grade school days are tough!! Btwn getting sick, getting hurt, getting lice, it's a wonder we make it through! LOL

Hang in there and I'll send up a prayer that you all start feeling better and stay that way!
