Being thankful

Most of us are dealing with hard times right now. The economy is a mess and the holidays are right around the corner. It's easy to get frustrated, depressed, to get in a little funk. I've been in the funk lately but I'm realizing it doesn't do any good. Does it fix your problems? No. Does it make them easier to handle? No. In fact, it does the opposite, making things worse than they are. So I decided to pull myself out. With Thanksgiving inching closer and closer I'm going to start being thankful for all the good things in my life.

My family. I have a wonderful and supportive husband who would do anything for his family. I have two beautiful, happy girls who light up even the darkest of days.

Health.

My writing. Even though I haven't been doing it as much as I should lately, my writing does give me new breath. It gives me a brief escape that I need to start taking more often.

Baby smiles. My 11 month old has the most beautiful, purely genuine smiles in the world. She gives them so easily too. I treasure each one.

My 4 years olds sassy attitude. Even though some days it stresses me out, I know she'll be a strong woman and won't ever let anyone take advantage of her.

My friends. I have some of the best friends who I know I can always count on whether I need a laugh or a shoulder to cry on. They're always there.

Those are a few of the things in my life I have to be thankful for right now. My energy would be so much better spent focusing on those than the negative. What about you? What do you have to be thankful for right now?

So very true, Kelley! I look at everything as a blessing even the worse things because greater things can come out of them. Thanks for posting, reminding everyone that life is really good if you look at it from a different point of view!

Pretty much the similar things. My DH, my son, my little girl.

A roof over my head and food on my table. My writing which brings me such joy (except in edits).

And of course all my writing buds.

Big hugs to you Kelley.

I'm thankful for: My man, my children, a roof over my head and a job which pays the bills - well, most of them, anyway.

I'm thankful for so many things right now.

My kids are great, my husband is kind and my health is good. I have a great roof over my head and I am joyful to have food to feed them!!! Last but certainly not least, I have fabulous friends that I have connected with in many ways and I love them all dearly and am thankful that I can ask for advice or support and they are right there giving their all!!!

Such a nice post. So many things to be thankful for. Me, I'm thankful that my family is healthy, that we're happy and there for each other. I'm thankful that I have a job to go to every day and a home to come back to every evening. I'm thankful for my muse and for the husband who puts up with it. :)

Take care!
