"The inimitable author, Regina Carlysle, creates a sensually delicious, erotic and romantic story that is sure to capture the reader's heart and soul! And it also got Book of the Week at Whipped Cream Reviews!

Here's the blurb:

A standalone story in the Cougar Challenge series.

Lori Donovan accepts the Cougar Challenge and pledges to snag a hot young stud, knowing it’ll be tough once she moves back to her Texas hometown. She expects barren plains and rattlesnakes but finds hunky Jackson Blue drilling for oil on her property instead. A driller. Hmm. Lori has a few ideas about that and just about all of them involve her poor, needy, sex-starved body.

Jackson takes one look at the curvy, sexy, older woman and puts his expertise into action. After all, drilling is what he does best. Against the wall, on the floor or in the middle of her bed, he’s the right man for the job. It’s a hot time in Texas when a tough, sexy drillin’ man meets a sassy cougar, and playing it safe just isn’t an option.

Now, since it's Friday and all, I figured a cutie or two wouldn't be a bad idea. *grin*

Happy Friday!! :)

Feeling oddly disconnected

Maybe disconnected is the wrong word. I guess lately I've just been doing a lot of thinking. Over the past few weeks I've come to the conclusion that we are here on earth for a really short period of time. A blip really. We go through life doing and doing and doing, but we forget to stop and just feel.

Last night my husband and I took a moment and we stopped. We sat out on the deck with a fire going in the fire pit and listened to the wind blowing through the trees. We talked about important things, and nothing at all. Those moments are so far and few between though because we all get so busy with life!

When was the last time you watched the leaves fall to the ground or listened to the rain on the roof? Maybe smelling the fresh aroma of coffee in the morning or taking the time to read a good book? I don't know about you, but I tend to chug my coffee and I'm forever rushing through books these days because I have so little free time.

Just taking time to enjoy the little things seems so hard. We have to schedule it in, for crying out loud! I'm feeling like I need to take a weekend and just go away. Have you ever done that? Took an impromtu vacation?

How do unwind? Or rather, how do you force yourself to stop and smell the roses? Is there a trick and I'm just missing it?

In other news. I have two new reviews to share and I'm so thrilled I can barely sit still!

Lynn at Fallen Angels Reviews gives Tempting Grace 5 angels and says,

"Ms. Rainey ramps up the emotional conflict along with the sensual tension in her latest addition to her Vaughn Family Series. As usual, she takes a 100 percent alpha male, combines him with an intelligent, sexy woman and invites her reader to sit back and watch the sparks fly. "

Trying to GET THIS

Okay, I don't want to offend anyone here but for some time now, I've been trying to figure out the appeal of male/male books to heterosexual female readers. Some of my best friends have been gay guys and I know books about them and their sexual/love relationships are all over the internet these days. That's good. In a free and open society every kind of love story imaginable should be readily available but you'd think these would be marketed to gay men , wouldn't you? Straight women are buying them up and devouring them.

I'll confess, I like my heroes straight and I want him to find the woman of his dreams. I've never bought a m/m book, though I HAVE read scenes before. So can someone out there please tell me what the appeal is? Not for the gay male reader but for the straight female. These days you can go to just about any publisher site and find their home pages full of hunks in a hot embrace on about half the covers. So I've been wondering...why do straight women love these stories?

In the Meantime:
Reviews are coming in for Lone Star Lycan, Book Two of the High Plains Shifters series at Ellora's Cave. So many thanks to Amethyst Nymph at Literary Nymphs for the Five Nymph review! Here's a bit of what she had to say:

Regina Carlysle has come up with a winner in Lone Star Lycan. Readers won’t be able to put the book down without finding out what happens next. The sexual attraction between Quinn and Joe is impossible to ignore and draws readers in like ants at a picnic. The immediate connection this couple shared left me longing to hear more stories about Joe’s Lycan friends, and I intend to be first in line for whatever this author publishes next.

Melinda at Night Owl Reviews gave LSL a Five and named it a Reviewer's Top Pick! YAY! Here is a bit of what she thought:

Oh my god Regina Carlisle not only created a great story but so much heat it leaps off the pages. I loved the whole paranormal shapeshifter aspects of this book and so didn’t want it to end. Quinn is one lost woman who only wants one thing and that is love. I loved that Joe is all man she needs but she is afraid of falling in love for the first time. Lone Star Lycan is a smoking hot read from the talented Regina Carlysle. This was a definitely a keeper for this reader.

Do Reviews Sell a Book?

Got a really nice review the other day for Lone Star Lycan (book two in the High Plains Shifters series) and it made me feel really good. It was a nice little ego boost especially when the book is a new release and you're wondering how everyone likes it. Call it insecurity, ego...hell, I don't know but we are curious people, us writers.

Anyway, I wonder why we worry so much about reviews. I've had one really bad review for a book that came out last year and it just about KILLED ME. It felt like a slap in the face. Naturally, all my friends were quick to assure me this is ONE PERSON'S OPINION and the smart part of my brain knew they were right about that. Others gave the book a great review. Still, it hurts. Fortunately my other reviews have been awesome. Nothing at all to complain about.

Reviews are a nice little pat on the back (assuming they are GOOD) and the book is featured on the review site which is great publicity that doesn't cost the author a dime. Who could complain about that? Still, I can't help wondering if anyone buys a book simply because of a good review? I never have. Normally, I buy the books of fellow authors whose work I know very well or tried and true authors who seldom disappoint. I go to publishers websites and check out the covers and blurbs. Sometimes I'll read an excerpt of the book on that site. Pretty much, that's how I make my book selections.

What about ya'll? Do reviews sway your buying choices?

Here's my most recent review of Love Star Lycan from Just Erotic Romance Reviews. Thanks LT Blue for reading and reviewing and giving me four stars!

Quinn Harlow suffered a horrible childhood under the cruelties of Decker Harlow, never knowing he wasn’t her biological father. Now in her early thirties, Quinn is traveling to the Wolf Creek Ranch on the day of her father, Bartholomew Fitzpatrick’s funeral and plans to stay just to get some answers. However, she is extremely disappointed that she didn’t have a chance to meet him. Joe McKinnon, ranch foreman of Wolf Creek and new Alpha, has been waiting for Quinn it seems all of his life. Quinn isn’t quite sure what has gotten into her, but making out with a man she just met at her father’s graveside isn’t something that she typically does. Joe is determined to show Quinn a side of herself that she would have never thought possible and to convince her to stay with him forever.

I tend to crave any story that has an Alpha Lycan male and I’m sure glad I picked up Lone Star Lycan to satisfy my craving. Joe’s character is so sexy and Alpha that he could just stand in a room and I would melt. I was a bit worried at first that Quinn wasn’t the woman for him, but Quinn changed my mind. Quinn’s character comes across a little stuck up in the beginning but I discovered it was a protective measure for her. The story line kept my attention throughout the story with some intrigue and action thrown in. The sexual chemistry was instantaneous in the beginning and sort of wears off. It doesn’t pick back up for Joe and Quinn until almost the end of the story. The first time Joe and Quinn have sex, it is downright raunchy which is just the way I like it. The other sexual interaction was just as hot and spicy with a bit of anal play thrown in. The secondary characters are all needed to move the story along. Lone Star Lycan is the perfect read for any season.

My new guilty pleasure

Okay so I have a new guilty pleasure. I'm totally entranced by True Blood.

Last season I didn't have HBO but they did play a few episodes on the free HBO weekend. Loved it then but couldn't see spending the extra money for only one show. Neither my hubby nor I watch many movies so it just wasn't something we wanted to do at the time. Recently we had to switch cable companies and guess what? They had a rockin' deal on HBO. So now I've been going through all the older episodes On Demand and I just can't stop watching. The new episode this week? OMG! I almost died. I can't wait to find out what's going to happen. I haven't enjoyed a show this much in a long time.

What's your guilty pleasure?

In other news I got a great review for my Madison Scott book, Satisfy Me.

Title: The Malone Brothers: Satisfy Me
Author: Madison Scott
Publisher: Liquid Silver Books
Publisher URL: www.liquidsilverboo ks.com
Reviewer: LT Blue
Rating: 4 Stars
Heat level: H

I’m a sucker for women who finally get the gumption to go after the men they want. Maggie’s character is a treat and one that I could relate to. Maggie has settle for years and did what was expected of her, until she actually woke up and realized that wasn’t the life she wanted. Ty is the perfect male for Maggie. Ty is sexy and willing to help Maggie out and fulfill her sexual fantasies as long as she knows it is only temporary. Ty is the type of guy you just love to watch fall in love and see all of their beliefs just crumble with a great woman at their side. The sexual chemistry between Maggie and Ty was actually there before we see them in the same room and when they have sex it is magically hot. I’m sure if there was more time, the raunchy side would have come out, but with this short story it was just hot and simmering.. There were a few background characters that played an important part of the story and I really loved the ghost. Satisfy Me is definitely a summer read that will satisfy you.

Relating to characters of the opposite sex

Don't you just love it when you find out something new about yourself? It's like it thumbs you on the head and you wonder how you never noticed it before. LOL. I had one of those "duh" moments lately. I got a really good review for my erotic work which I write under the name, Madison Scott
The reviewer mentioned that she thought I really got it when it came to the way a man feels about love and sex. That came as a little bit of a shock to me. I mean, I've always hoped that I got into a mans head well. I struggle with it and work hard on it but I was never sure if I did a good job with it or not.

A couple days later I was reading a book. One of my really good friends was reading it at the same time as me. While I'm reading along, the heroine is really pissing me off. Did I realize that the hero had screwed up a few times too? Yep. Did he make me mad? Yep to that too but for some reason I kind of "got" where he was coming from. It's weird because it wasn't as if I didn't "get" where she was coming from to a degree as well but I felt like her mistakes were bigger than his and I automatically sympathized with him more.

When my friend caught up with me, we started talking about the book and I was shocked to realize she sympathized with the heroine more. In my crazy little mind, the heroine was completely wrong but the way my friend saw it, she wasn't. Like I always tend to do, I started over thinking things. LOL. I tend to have a little problem with that. Believe me, I KNOW this sounds crazy but I started feeling a little guilty. We're women, we should stick together, right? Why was it easier for me to forgive HIS mistakes over HERS? Were hers really worse or do I expect more from her because she's a woman? Do I expect her to know better and give the guy more leeway because he's a guy? I hope not. I don't know. I can tell you one thing though, it's going to be in the back of my head when I'm reading from now on. LOL. Like I said, over thinker here. I'm curious if this was a one time thing or if it's something I always do. I do know that when I read a book, I have to like the heroine but I have to fall in love with the hero. Maybe that's part of what this is. I don't know.

So, am I crazy (don't answer that, lol)? Do you tend to sympathize more often with either the hero or the heroine in a book?

Woo hoo!

I woke up to find an awesome review for my erotic romance, Satisfy Me, this morning that made me all giddy. This is what the reviewer had to say...

Holy hot neighbor sex, Batman! This was one steamy read! I love a story that starts in the hero’s point of view because the way a man thinks fascinates me. Tyson Malone didn’t disappoint me, he’s all alpha male, right down to his manly talk and gutter mind. And his mind can’t stop thinking about his lovely new neighbor, Maggie Johnson. When he blurts out how hot he thinks she is, she’s shocked – no man has ever said such things to her. So, she propositions him for a sex-only relationship. It doesn’t take long for both of them to start realizing there’s more to their attraction than just sex though and it’s fun to watch their relationship develop into something deeper. And I always say the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Ty Malone definitely falls for the girl next door! Madison Scott is a great writer with dead on instincts for portraying how a man thinks and feels about sex and love and Maggie’s feelings felt realistic to me as well.

Summer + writing=pain in the ass

So, I've discovered that attempting to write in the summer is NOT an easy task. I could blame it on the kids being home, but that'd be a big fat lie. It's me. Allllll me. LOL

They've only been out a few weeks so far and already we've:

Gone to the movies.
Shopping, twice.
Visited the grandparents.
Gone to the park.
& spent a great deal of time watching rented movies.

This week the plan is to go hiking one day and also go see the new Transformers movie (can't wait!). Yep, I'm a bum. No doubt about it, I've been playing instead of working.

That's not to say I'm a complete loser. I HAVE gotten some work done. I've started a short story and it's moving along nicely, but still, it's slow because the weather is freaking gorgeous and I just don't feel like sitting in the house!

How do you all force yourself to write when you could be swimming, laying in the sun reading, browsing your favorite store at the mall, off on a picnic....see? It sounds inviting doesn't it? So, how do you MAKE yourself stay indoors??? Please, help me! My muse has taken a freakin' holiday here!!! LOL

Anyway, here's the review: Check it out!

Homework Anyone?

I've been laying low for a few days now trying to get inspired to write. Know the feeling, don't you? Ha. Figured I wasn't alone in that.

So I've been reading a bit and I've been so surprised by the lack of "homework" I've seen. I'm a big believer in research. We don't stop learning just because we have our high school and college diplomas shoved in the bottom of a desk God-Knows-Where. Maybe we just get lazy and figure we don't have to know anything about the profession of our hero and heroine. Maybe it's just not necessary to know just a little bit of the geography of a place.

As most of you know, my books are mainly set in Texas or other parts of the southwest. There is a reason for that. I live in Texas and have traveled all over the area. I'm familiar with the geography, the manner of dress, the customs, and the language of the people so it's a 'comfort' thing for me. Now that doesn't mean, I don't leave my little corner of the world from time to time. I do. But I make sure that I've done my research. I've been known to do a little delving into occupations and geography just to make sure I've got it right...or as 'right' as possible.

Have you ever read something and thought....hm, this author is dead wrong about this? Doesn't it drive you nuts? Dialect that is "off" also has me pulling out my hair. A cowboy in Texas might tell the heroine something but he would likely say it a lot differently than a CEO located in New York City might. The cadence of the words would be different, the expressions most certainly would be different as well.

So when did it become too much trouble to hone in on these things? A story is just a whole lot richer when that extra effort is made. It's just fine if your hero/heroine is a chef but wouldn't you want to discuss a dish or two that might be prepared in the course of your story? If he/she is a cop wouldn't you want to mention a weapon that might be used or have the cop lingo down a bit? I certainly would.

Hey! Google is a wonderful thing. I know for a fact I head over there often just to be clear on a point or two. Doesn't take long. Really.

Other Things: Congrats to Anne! She has a release today. Scroll down to read a blurb then head over to the site and pick up your copy.

Giggled and loving it!

You're probably wondering why I've posted a picture of the famous chararacter from the movie Psycho, huh? Norman Bates. Ah, no one can do insanity quite like him.

Then again, I've managed to pull it off without even trying. Cool, huh?!

At least that's what Mrs. Giggles tells me. The following quote is in reference to my recent Samhain Publishing release, Turbulent Passions (contemporary romance with psychic elements): "Aries is a little too creepy for my liking. He exudes a most disquieting Norman Bates vibe" --Mrs. Giggles

I read that and couldn't stop laughing. I even read it to my mom, and she got a good chuckle out of it too. I love it! Norman Bates! Who knew I could create such a creepy secondary character? I think I've missed my calling. Clearly I should be writing thrillers.

The thing about reviews is that there's always at least one that'll raise your eyebrows in surprise. You'll either be pleased as punch, angry as hell or just downright baffled. This time I was both pleased and baffled. Mrs. Giggles gives Turbulent Passions a 75 and overall she liked the story and wished it'd been longer. All in all I walked away smiling. And I get to hold the unique honor of having Norman Bates as a secondary character. How cool is that?!

My own take on Aries is a little different, as you can imagine. He and his twin sister, Sapphire, posess some very cool psychic powers. They've lost both their parents in a car accident and the only family they have left is each other. Aries is understandably overprotective, obsessed with keeping her safe, and feels responsible for her as only a brother would. In the end he realizes the error of his ways and everyone lives happily ever after. I suppose to understand his situation you'd have to read the book yourself. Is Aries Norman Bates creepy or is he simply fixated on keeping his twin alive?

Here's an excerpt for you. In this scene, Aries learns that Sapphire has a strange man in her home and Aries is concerned.

__________________________________

Excerpt:

Aries waved a hand toward the table. “Please, sit.”

The stranger closed the distance, waiting to seat her before taking his own chair.

“Such a gentleman, Sister.”

“Kiss off, Brother.”

Aries grinned and sat in one of the two remaining chairs. “Do you remember anything at all?

How you came to be on our land, for example?”

The stranger dragged his fingers through his hair. “No, nothing. It’s infuriating as hell, too.”

Aries nodded. “I can understand. The mind is a very fragile thing. It’s important you don’t push too hard, or you risk losing the memories forever.”

The stranger squinted at Aries, as if bothered by something. “You two seem to know a lot about the brain. Are you scientists or doctors of some kind?”

Sapphire smiled. “Can I tell him about our upbringing?”

“Yes, but be careful. He’s very curious, and that bothers me.”

Sapphire turned to the man seated at her left and attempted to explain without giving too much away. “Nothing quite so important. Our parents were believers in all things natural. Metaphysics was a way of life for us growing up.”

“Metaphysics?”

“Loosely it means that which transcends physics. In other words, my parents believed in things beyond the norm. Faith healing, crystals, astrology. You see?”

“So that explains the unique names. No Johns and Janes for you guys, huh?”

Sapphire found herself laughing. “No, but I’d wished to have a more normal name. When I was a kid, being Sapphire wasn’t always easy.”

“I can imagine. But your eyes…” He cleared his throat, then said, “Well, the name is very fitting.”
“Thank you. I wish I had a name for you.”

“You and me both, sweetheart.”

Aries growled low. Sapphire felt it the instant he was about to unleash his power on the unsuspecting man sitting next to her. She’d already become infatuated with him and she desperately wanted to explore those feelings further.

“Don’t!”

“He shouldn’t be so free with the endearments. He has no rights over you.”

“And did the women you bedded in town have rights over you?”

“You go too far, Sister.”

“Excuse me?” the stranger asked as he regarded them both with curiosity.

Sapphire froze as she realized Aries had spoken aloud. He never made a mistake.

“Twins,” Aries quickly explained. “Sometimes we can look at each other and know what the other is thinking.”

“Right, I’d forgotten. You two sure don’t look anything alike. She’s so small and you’re so…not.”

Aries laughed. Actually laughed. It was such a rare occurrence these days, it startled them both.

“So, I get that sapphire is a gemstone, and with her blue eyes the name is plenty appropriate, but what about you?”

“Aries. The astrological sign. It denotes a person with strong power of initiative who is independent, has a good temper and likes to win.”

Sapphire covered her mouth and attempted to stifle her laugh.

“Well, that’s why Mom and Dad named me Aries, isn’t it?”

“You left out jealous, loses interest easily, temperamental, has a hard time showing feelings.”

Aries rolled his eyes as if bored. “Thanks for the astrology lesson.”

“Any time.”

“You two do this often?”

“What?” they asked in unison.

“The bantering back and forth. It’s pretty entertaining. I never had a…”

The stranger stopped and his square jaw tensed visibly. It bothered her to see him so lost. Sapphire placed her hand on his arm. “It’s okay. It’s just another mind leak. Soon the crack will widen and all of it will come flooding back.”

The stranger looked at her hand as if mesmerized. Something undeniable and magnetic seemed to pass between them. Her body flooded with warmth and the juncture between her thighs was suddenly dripping with need. She didn’t quite understand what she was feeling, but she had some idea. And she didn’t need her brother there ruining things.

Aries stood, as if sensing her desperation. “It’s getting late and I have things to attend to before bed.” The handsome stranger stood and held out his hand. Aries took it and nodded. “She’s my only living relative. I’ll always watch over her, so tread with caution, stranger.”

“You have my word.”

“I’ll have more than that should you choose to hurt Sapphire. Know this: There is no place on earth I could not find you.”

To her surprise and admiration, the stranger dropped Aries’ hand and walked around the table to stand face to face with him. Looking her brother straight in the eyes, he vowed, “Your sister will come to no harm while I’m here.”

Aries nodded as if satisfied.

“Aries?”

“I’ve searched his mind. I didn’t find anything to cause me alarm. And he genuinely likes you. Actually, like might be too tame. The things he’s thinking…damn, I feel like I should stand guard or something.”

“I’ll have your head on a stick if you even think it.”

“You’re one scary lady.”

“Remember that come morning, okay?”

“What’s going to happen in the morning?”

“Shut up and go, will you?”

Aries laughed aloud and left. She locked the door behind him and set the security alarm, before turning to the stranger. He stood in her kitchen, all his focus trained on her as if she were a juicy steak and he a starving Doberman.

Oh, my.

Do you Kindle?

Do you Kindle? I've heard really neat things about them. I don't have one but I'd love to in the future. Why do I want to know you ask???? Because the first book in the Friday's at Luciano's series, Getting Lucky with Luciano is now available on Kindle!!!

Responsible, workaholic bookstore owner, Kaylee Daniels is ready to add a little bit of spice to her life. She doesn’t have a lot of spare time but what better way to try and occupy her free time than with a no strings attached affair with hunky Italian restaurant owner, Luciano Valenti. The man has had her fires burning for the past six months. The only problem: she can’t be around him without turning into a stammering klutz. How is she supposed to seduce a man she can’t even hold a conversation with?

Since the first Friday Kaylee Daniels walked into his restaurant she’s had Luciano on edge. The foxy woman spilled more drinks than anyone he’d ever seen but something about her got to him, bad. Luciano doesn’t have time in his life for anything serious. Hell, he doesn’t want anything serious and Kaylee is definitely a relationship kind of girl. Or so he thought… What happens when two career minded people decide to spend a little more time on themselves…and each other? They just might find themselves getting lucky along the way.

Reviews:5 Ribbons from Romance Junkies
GETTING LUCKY WITH LUCIANO is a delicious tale from the first word to the last. Ms. Nyrae has delivered a novel full of witty dialogue, courageous, independent characters and sexual heat that can't be denied.

4 Stars--Romanctic Times Magazine
Readers will ride waves of exhilaration that flow into mind-blowing sexual tension. While the title alludes to the outcome, the passionate tides and surges are what fascinate from the onset.

Luciano groaned as Kaylee pushed against his chest. “You’re on your lunch break, Bella. Ignore it.” He tired to kiss her hoping she would forget the phone that he was two seconds from pulling out of the wall.
“It will only take a second.”
He shut his eyes as Kaylee eased out from under him.“Thank you for calling Bookends. How may I help you?”
Luciano laid there, rock hard, on edge, and for a moment, resenting her damn bookstore. He watched her talk to whoever spoke on the other end of the phone, her beautiful, dark-skinned body naked from the waist up.
She wore her braids tied up in some kind of bun on top of her head. Did she have any idea how sexy he found her? How much he hurt right now with the need to have her? Possess her? Even if it was only for, Luciano raised his arm to glance at his watch, thirty eight more minutes.
Without thinking, Luciano stood, stripped, and walked over to her slowly. He smiled. She studdered.
“Umm. Yes, I can order that book-”
Luciano pulled her braids from the bun watching them fall against her breasts. Grabbing her hair, he pushed it over her shoulders to lie against her back. He lowered his mouth to one pert nipple and sucked.
“I… I can’t look up the price right now,” Kaylee said into the phone, sounding a bit breathless. “Umm. The computers,” she studdered. “They crashed. Can you,” Luciano sucked harder, enjoying her unique taste as it tickled his tongue. “Call…back…later?”
Luciano moved to her other breast treating it to the same care. He didn’t want to lose any of his time with her today. Kaylee was strong and independent. He knew she would really kick him out at the end of their forty five minutes.
“Thanks,” Kaylee hung up the phone with a loud click before grabbing his head to hold it to her chest.
“Don’t think I’m letting you get away with that,” she told him. “I won’t tolerate-”
Luciano silenced her with his mouth. She tasted sweet. He felt like a volcano seconds to eruption.
Lowering his hand, Luciano eased into her pants and pushed one finger inside her. As soon as her muscles loosened up to accommodate him, he added another. Her body clamped tightly around his fingers. Her velvety, wetness urging him on. He wanted to explode right then.
“This is much more fun than that phone call, Kaylee,” he said a mere inch from her mouth. “Don’t you think?”
“Yes, but Luciano-”
He didn’t give her a chance to finish but again grabbed her mouth in a searing kiss. His fingers moved in and out of her warmth while she moved her hips to the same rhythm.
She panted against his mouth. “Yes. Please!”
“That’s it, Bella. Enjoy yourself, let yourself go, enjoy the pleasure I’m giving you.”
“I…faster, Luciano.”
He smiled, his erection throbbing with need, his pride soaring because of the passion he witnessed in her honey brown eyes. His body ached to possess her, to feel her tightness clamped around his cock. He needed to give her this pleasure first before he took her. Moving his fingers faster he felt her muscles begin to tighten, to pulse. His smile grew as she gripped him, her fingernails digging into his skin.
“Let loose, Kaylee.”
As her name left his mouth, Kaylee came, her breathing labored before she collapsed against him.
“My time isn’t quite up yet.” Luciano lifted Kaylee into his arms, her legs automatically locking around his waist. He reveled in the feel of her wrapped tightly in his arms. She was warm, soft, and spent. At that moment, for the first time, he wished he didn’t have to go back to work, but then, she’d still kick him out anyway.

Join Us for WICKED WEEKENDS!

Since weekends are pretty much crazy for all of us, Anne, Kell and I have decided we'll be doing a "chillin' out" kinda thing on weekends from now on which we'll call "Wicked Weekends".

Weekends are family times, running errands times and, in general, the two days everyone needs to decompress so in the spirit of giving everyone a little break we'll just pop on to share fun (or HOT) pics or update everyone on what's going on in our professional/personal lives. Sometimes we'll share our reviews, excerpts, works in progress or just gab.

Most of you know Killer Curves came out at Ellora's Cave in September and the reviews are beginning to come in. I'm pretty excited because they've been pretty good so far. I tend to not go on loops and give a SHOUT OUT when I get these because, dang it, I always feel like I'm bragging my butt off but I'll share today.

T. faces aren't on any race track. Will love await him at the finish line or only more heartache?KILLER CURVES is a great story. There are some hot scenes, just read the opening, but there is a great story of romance and love written within the pages of KILLER CURVES as well. There is also a story of coming to terms with our fears and the past. This is my first story by Ms. Carlysle but certainly won't be my last. The characters are realistic and engaging, and the story is one that is hard to stop reading. Fans of the world of racing will find KILLER CURVES another winner.

Literary Nymph Reviews-4 Nymphs

Nymphs reviewer: Bramble Nymph

Being married to a racing mega-star wasn’t easy for Carrie Martin Salem. When a devastating crash resulted in Mark’s death, she left her glitzy and glamorous life in the public eye to lick her wounds in private in Mesquite Creek, Texas. Even though racecar driver J.T. Sims was her husband’s best friend, he was always there for her whenever she needed support. Now three years down the road, does she have what it takes to change their relationship from being just friends to lovers?Though Carrie wants to come across as a tough, mature woman, she is still hurting on the inside. At times, I just wanted to strangle her already dead husband for turning her into an emotional coward. It is clear that J.T wants the woman badly and is determined to put his point across. He is no doubt sexy but his flaring temper makes him appear childish at times instead of an understanding man. They already have a dormant relationship and J.T just has to show up at her doorstep to fan out the flames. The sex that they share is explosive. The raunchy episodes are totally uplifting for Carrie’s soul as she seems to come out of her self-constructed protective shell each time J.T takes her passion soaring. The plot relies heavily on sex as it was meant to wash away Carrie’s burdens and doubts. I do agree that all of it changes her point of view but I would have liked more conversation along with jaunty episodes in the bedroom. The author deals with their emotions carefully near the end, making the story incredibly romantic and sensual. The fear of pain and loss makes most of us respond as we do, and Ms. Carlysle sleekly brings all the feelings together. With the excitement and adrenaline rush familiar to the racing circuit, Killer Curves overcomes a hard hitting bend in the road to love!

Killer Curves is a fiery read with plenty of drama and sensuality. This is a perfect read any time of the year. There is passion and drama in abundance as well as sensuality and emotion. Regina Carlysle has created a beautiful story of loss and love that will captivate any reader. This is a sensitive and sensual story that is an absolute must read.
After the death of her husband in a fiery crash, Carrie Martin Salem left the world of the racing circuit and retreated to Texas vowing to live a quiet and safe life. But old memories dig deep, leaving her longing for the friend she left behind. From the moment J.T. Sims steps from the cab of his truck, Carrie knows it’s more than friendship she feels for the hottest racecar driver on Earth. J.T. Sims never forgot the beautiful wife of his long-dead best friend. She’d had her time to grieve. She’d had years to pull herself together and now it was his turn, his time to reach out for the love he’s always wanted. His mission becomes convincing the pretty Texas lady that she’s strong enough to take what he’s offering. Nights of hot passion and days filled with love.
Killer Curves is a fabulous story by a gifted author. The characters are thoroughly developed and highly likeable. This is a definite must have for readers who like a little spice in their lives. I can not wait to see what this author has in store for us next. If Killer Curves is anything to go by then it will be a sensual feast.

Carrie Martin-Salem was in a bad relationship with her race car driver husband, Mark. Though he died three years ago, Carrie still has trouble getting over how badly their relationship ended. However, she is ready to try dating again. Just as she makes a date with a local man who has been pursuing her, a spontaneous visit from a man from her past makes her giddy.
Race car driver J.T. Sims has never forgotten his friend Mark’s widow, Carrie. J.T. always longed for the lovely and sweet woman and he decides it is time to make his intentions known, even three years down the road. When he shows up, sparks fly. But is Carrie ready to let go of the guilt and fear she still feels surrounding Mark’s death? Can J.T. show her that love is what she is missing in her life?

Romance Junkies- 4 Ribbons

KILLER CURVES is a delicious and sexy read! J.T. shows Carrie just what she has been missing from her life. He is passionate, affectionate and quite clear about what he wants from their new relationship. J.T. wants Carrie as his wife, his friend, his companion in the future. I found that even sexier than all the intimacies they shared. J.T. was definitely a bit of a player and it took him awhile to finally understand what he wanted, but once he realized he was missing Carrie from his life, he made his move. Regina Carlysle did a good job of showing Carrie and J.T.’s relationship evolve in a short time. This is a compact story but it does not show in the relationship. KILLER CURVES is a fun read! Carrie and J.T. have a nice rapport and trust in each other, and that is the best kind of love.
