My little girl is five

My oldest daughter turned five a couple days ago. It's just amazing to me how time flies. Tomorrow she's having a bowling birthday party with her friends. Bowling? Since when do I have a child old enough to bowl? In a few short months we'll be packing her lunch and bringing her to kindergarten for the first time (though she doesn't understand why she can't start today). I know this sounds funny but kindergarten is the big leagues to me! School five days a week, older children on campus with her...wow...I'm still in a little bit of shock. Just yesterday she was learning to say mama and teetering around while trying to learn to walk. Now she's a five year old who tells me she wishes she were sixteen!

She's so funny. Such a strong personality. A little bit diva but also very sensitive with a kind heart. She loves books just like her mommy and wants to write someday (actually she wants to write now). She rocks out with me in the car while we're driving and listening to music and loves taking care of her little sister.

I'm SO very lucky to have her for my daughter.

It goes so fast. She's going to love school in a few short months. =)

But I've also watched you as a momma and you've grown too. You treasure every moment you share, enjoy all the little things she offers and are a fabulous mother, raising a strong, beautiful girl inside and out!

Aw, happy birthday to her. Word of warning, carry plenty of kleenex on her first day of school. I promise you'll need them. It's such a milestone. Your mentioning rockin' out to the radio reminds me of the years with my daughter and the shouts of ....ohhhh I llllooove that one. HA.

As you are going through your milestone with kindergarten, I'll be doing the same except leaving my daughter at college. Treasure every moment. I promise, I'll once again have a purse full of kleenex.

Kids are a trip. They crack me up. I'm leaving my job at the school next week. I got a job with better hours/benefits/pay so economically I need to leave my school job, but I know I'll miss the kids.

My youngest will be five in two more months! I can't believe it either.
