Break out the POPCORN

It's May 1 and officially the beginning of the summer movie season. YAY!!!! Every year I wonder what will be out there and this year everything looks sooooo damn gooood!

May I say HUGH JACKMAN???? Yeah, I know Wolverine has that funky, weird hair but damn. Only Hugh could pull that doo off and still manage to be sexy as hell. I can't wait for X-Men Origins: Wolverine. This movie also features Ryan Reynolds who is uber-yum! Gotta love a man who is not only hot but FUNNY! I love him to death. I was also surprised to learn that Will I Am, the multi-talented writer and musician of Black Eyed Peas fame will make his acting debut as a mutant transporter named Wraithe.

And what else awaits us at the theater this summer? The movie Star Trek, featuring a ton of new, young actors. I've been seeing the clips of this and it looks fun. We also have Christian Bale in the next Terminator movie and Shia LaBeouf in Transformers 2. I don't know about you but I adore Shia. To me, he has that 'everyman' quality that makes him so likeable.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince also comes out this summer. Every year the kids get older but I think better and it'll be fun to see what they do with this.

So yeah. I'm ready to hit a few matinees and see as many of these movies as possible. It will be interesting to see how well attended the theaters will be this summer considering the poor economy. So far, we've seen books continue to sell and I suspect movies will provide a perfect escape for lots of folks this summer.

What movies are on your 'can't miss' list?

We've got plans for Wolverine this Sunday and Star Trek next Sunday. Been waiting for both a long time! Harry Potter is a must-see, but I don't know about anything else.

I can't WAIT to see Gambit in Wolverine. Love Taylor Kitsch!

Hubby informed me he's taking me to see Star Trek the day it arrives in town. The last movie he and I saw alone was Revenge of the Sith. So yeah, I'm due for a movie date:)

Also looking forward to Harry Potter:)

You had me at Hugh Jackman. :D Love movies, but alas, right now, it's either leisure time, or writing. Writing wins. Grrrrr LOL.

I want to see Wolverine, Harry Potter (that's a NO miss baby will be out by then) and Star Trek.

I'm contemplating lumbering into the movie theatre to see Star Trek that's how bad I want to see it.

Wolverine is at the top of my list. The ads for it just look soooo good. I was never a huge Star Trek fan but movie seems very fresh and I'm interested to see how the young actors portray these icons.

Isn't the new Harry Potter the one where they look closer into Snakes past? Hmmm. Interesting. I remember my daughter crying at the end of the book but she's still dying to see it.

Ooops I said SNAKE and I meant to say SNAPE...my bad. HA

Yep. I'll give it a review here, Mia. Know I'll be seeing it.

I may be crazy, but give me a good book and I will wait till the movie is on TV (and save a lot of money)!
Hugh Jackman, yesss.

Hmm. Dumbledore is just cool as hell...not hot but cool. SNICKER.

I think Wolverine and Hugh are a hands down winner.

I'm totally up for Harry Potter this summer, and was so bummed this past fall when the release date was shifted. I'm also looking forward to Angels and Demons this month and to the new Night at the Museum this summer.

Regina Carlysle said...

Ooooh Angels and Demons. I KNEW I was forgetting one. I love anything with Tom Hanks!!!

I'm definitely up for Angels and Demons. It's been age since I've read the book, but I remember enjoying it. And all the others mentioned have me drooling. Eric Bana in Star Trek...yummy!I still haven't seen State of Play with Russell Crowe, so that's on the do do list, too.

I get to see Wolverine today. YES!!!!

Star Trek I will probably wait until later to see. Angels and Demons is on the list for me as well.

My husband wants to see Transformers and then there is the next Terminator movie. And that is just May.

Harry Potter is on the list and GI Joe whenever it comes out. Not sure what else is coming ...thats a long list as it is.

Yep, I saw X-Men last night. Was good. Lots of Hugh, not enough Ryan Reynolds.
