Calling all TRUE BLOOD Fans

I freely admit I'm a TrueBlood junkie. Over the past few months I've been re-watching season two, which was a wild, funny, sexy, over the top series of crazy. Along with the old episodes, Allan Ball and crew have treated fans to A Drop of True Blood, short clips of characters in mini-sodes designed to spike interest in the coming season. I'd say it has done the trick as far as I'm concerned. My critique of season two is mixed. The first part of the season found Jason at the Light of Day Institute learning the art of vamp killing and seeing first hand the prejudice and zealot behavior of the Reverand Newland and his sexy wife, Sara. Sookie and Bill, at the request of Eric (the hottest vampire on the planet), are in Dallas searching for Goddrick, who has gone missing. Back in Bon Temps, MaryAnn, takes over the town and turns those gullible, redneck humans into creatures she bends to her command. Personally, I liked the first part of season two better than the last part. All the stuff with Mary Ann, the craziness and the orgies got a little old after awhile. Others might disagree but I was soon ready to go back to the Dallas Vamps and wanted to see more of them.

Season Three will offer up more of Sam's shapeshifter past. I'm looking forward to that because who doesn't love Sam? He is brave, selfless, and willing to give all for those he loves. Yes, I'm ready for more of Sam. Tara will have a new love interest and so will dumb but oh so sexy Jason. Tensions will ratchet up between Sookie and Eric and then season three will see the introduction of werewolves into the series. Is anyone else as excited as I to see more of that? BTW...did anyone see the clip of werewolf Alcide? Whoa. Total hotness.

Now that excitement about season three is ratched up a notch or ten, what do you hope to see in Season Three?

I can't wait! I still love the books much more, but the HBO series is like a separate entity with similar characters. I'm anxious to see how they work Alcide and the other wolves into the storyline and, LOL, you just cannot have too much Eric.

I can't wait either! I've read all the books and adore the series. I totally agree that Eric and Alexander Skarsgard are two of the hottest men on the planet.

I just love that scene where Eric suckers Sookie into sucking the bullet out. That little smile he did just about did me in! My only hope for this season is that the Sookie and Eric connection stays. I so dig them together! Of course, Alcide is a smokin' hot contender, too! LOL But no one beats out Eric!

Thanks for making me smile! :)

I love the books, I'm currently reading Dead in the Family and I agree that the show is completely separate. I didn't much care for the last few episodes of Season 2, I got that, let's get it over with feeling. However, the final episode made me happy because I knew that in a few months, there would be werewolves. I fell in love with Alcide while reading Club Dead and I think they did an amazing job casting him in the show. I'm looking forward to seeing him the most. I'm also hoping Tara gets her mess of a life together and does better for herself...like in the books. I wish they'd make her character stronger and have her overcome all that crazy in her life. My absolute favorite is Lafayette, he makes me happy. I hope they get him over his trauma so he can go back to being his fabulous self.

Sine I have never once seen True Blood, I can't really comment. I don't have HBO. But I'm here to lend moral support, love. LOL!

Ooooh Suzanne. I hear you on Eric. YUMMM-EEEEE. I haven't read the books yet but plan to. Since I'm so into the show I don't want to ruin anything because we all know the books are usually better. The introduction of the wolves though...WOW. Can't wait to see how they do this.

Did you get HBO Madison??? YAY!!! We'll have to dish on it after the episodes air.

Ahhhh that SMILE of Eric's. Too sexy, snarky, and funny all together, Sarah. He is just so naughty he makes me laugh. I think one of the things I love about Eric is that he is SOOOOO smart. Sexy smart. What a combination.

Lafayette!!! Yesssss, one of my favorite characters. I understand he'll have a lover in this show. I just hope he doesn't lose any of that sass. The show wouldn't be the same without that.

I read on TrueBlood.net (the fan site) that the guy who plays Alcide actually read that fans were interested in him in the role. He was already of fan of the show and so made it his mission to get the part. Guess the guy worked out 24/7 and oh lordy, does it SHOW. Very hot man.

Rent the series, Fran. You'll be hooked.

Of course, I personally blame you, Regina, for getting me hooked on the TV series.

I've read all nine of the books at least twice through and love them. I would love, love, love to see the TV series adaptation of DEAD TO THE WORLD. Man, oh man, that would be a killer season to watch. I won't add any spoilers here, but it's book four in the series, and they're into book three of the series, so I have my fingers crossed there's enough impetus in the ratings for them to keep going because that book is my favourites of all of them.

I'll add two words. They're not too much in the way of spoilers:

SHOWER SCENE!!!!

I don't have HBO and I've never seen this show. Wish I could see it, but trying to catch up after two seasons would be hard to do, I think. :)

I love True Blood. I saw the first season on DVD. I actually watched all the episodes for season 1 the same day that the first episode for season 2 started. So at least I didn't have to wait between seasons.

I've got to say, season 2 was not my favorite. I really liked Godrick. Too bad he didn't stick around longer.

I met a lady this past weekend that went to school with the chick that plays Tara. We had a nice little True Blood Discussion.

I love me some Eric. Jason is just one hot little fella; even if he is dumb as a box of rocks.

Regina Carlysle said...

Oh yeah. Dumb as a box of VERY PRETTY ROCKS. Did you see the mini episode with Jason in the woods. I laughed my butt off.

Anne, you can rent the seasons on you'll love it. You won't have a bit of trouble catching up. You've GOT to see this show. Really!

Regina Carlysle said...

Tracy, I haven't read the books because I heard they were just too different from the show but damn, if I'm not intrigued about this shower scene.

Regina Carlysle said...

Oh yeah, Jen. I don't think anyone wanted to see the end of Godrick. He was a wonderful character. I loved him. That scene in the church with the rev. just blew me away.

We had a crash course in TB last year when we got Vios. Watched Season 1 in a week and Season 2 immediately upon it being available. I've been rewatching a few here and there as I find them on cable.

I hope to see more Eric. Preferably nekkid. ;) But what I mean is more behind his character (that still sounded dirty). And what *is* Sookie, anyway? And Sam needs a woman and...whew. I'm getting all excited.

Now I'm off to search these minisodes and completely waste my writing time staring at my computer and counting down to the 13th.

XOXO

I have both seasons in my DVD collection. I can't wait until the new episode starts. Hmm, where shall I begin?

well, Jason Stackhouse turns me off because the boy is just dumber than a damn brick. I remember when I first started watching TB, I thought, damn he's hott. As the seasons progressed, he just started getting dumber, an dumber. Sometimes I can't help but laugh at him, but other times, he can be really irritating. LOL When I see him in the interviews, it's a wow to see that he speaks with a French accent. So, then he becomes sexy to me again. ; )

I loved the Dallas vamps. I do wish they had been in the series a bit more. Hated Bill's sire. Really wanted to rip her head off when she was holding Bill hostage. Sookie rocks! She never backed down from the biatch!!

Sam, oh , I love him. He's a sweetie. I can't wait to learn more of his past.

Bill and Eric are intense hotties. It was amusing to see Eric change his character when he and Sookie were at the Fellowship of The Sun. I laughed my head off at the one.

Yeah, True Blood rocks!!
