Aging Gracefully? Or is it time for a TUNE UP?

Every now and then I'll watch a recent movie or television show and catch actresses that I remember as being some of my favorites over the past twenty years. Some of them have aged gracefully and I'll smile, thinking...wow, she looks pretty darn good these days. She's still as pretty as ever! And then there are other times, other celebrities, who just scare the hell out of me. I'm left shaking my head and wondering why they would inject so much poison (Botox) into their faces that they seem to be wearing a plastic mask.

Back about ten years ago, I thought I'd never voluntarily go 'under the knife' in the pursuit of perpetual youth. I had these grandious notions of aging gracefully but let me tell you, these days I'm seriously tempted. Now, I'm not talking about Botox overload. I can go to a Halloween Costume store and purchase that look much cheaper. Lately though I've been noticing a deep line here and there and I have to cop to having enough vanity that the thought of making those little buggers disappear has it's appeal. Would I do it? Naw, probably not. I'll never say never because if I begin looking like some kind of hideously, scary crone, I might just have to cave for fear of the day I'll terrify any potential grandchildren. NOT how I want the little imps to remember Grandma.

Breast reduction? I would consider that. Carrying around way too much boobage hurts the back and I understand this can be covered by insurance. Hmm...eeeeenteresting. Might have to do some research on that. Adding boobage? I don't see a problem with that either if a woman is uncomfortable with her size or shape. We all want to look better in our clothes and for ourselves. In the end, it's all about self esteem, isn't it?

Since we're discussing the quest for perfection here, thought I'd leave you with some hottie pics. Now THESE guys don't need a bit of touching up, do they?

Oh JOE!!!! Or should I say ALCIDE. So glad we get to look at your handsome 'wolfie goodness' in Season Four of True Blood.

Hmm. Wonder what this guy is thinking about? Naughty things, I bet!

Do you guys see the dimple? I love that.

Nothing is better than a guy with soulful eyes.

Since I posted all these beautiful faces...thought we might need a eeeeensy bit MORE! Yum.

Regina, you and I have the same exact taste in men. No doubt about it. There's not one of those dudes I'd by pass at all. lol

Cosmetic surgery? Not for me. I'm scared of going under that knife. I'd be afraid I'd wake up with my nose on the back of my head and have to breathe out my a**. lol

Love the hotties, hon.

Regina, those men are something I would wake up for. Those bodies are to die for.

Cosmetic surgery, definitely not for me. Too scared to even think about it will all the horror stories and quacks we have out their these days.

Pretty fellows. But the sexiest/nicest guy I ever knew looked like the side of a barn door. And he ooooozed sex appeal.

Surgery? Nah. I am who I am.

Love #4! He's mine He's mine He's mine!!!

Hmmm...juat caught sight of myself in a picture at a birthday party and noticed (alarmingly) how I'm resembling my mom from the waist down!!

Time for Molly to get more exercise...

And as for surgery? Not on my face, but if they ever have to take out my appendix, they can sure suck out fat in my belly with my blessing, lol:)

Hellooooo Ladies,

Regina is out of town today and won't be back until late tonight. So I'm filling in for her at the blog today.

Anny...the sexiest man I ever dated was not what you would call movie-star good lookin' for sure. But the man exuded a raw sexuality I just can't explain. And he had a fantastic sense of humor. Sexy is just one of those things that is like beauty---belongs to the eye of the beholder. And I'm sort of with you on the surgery...but...

Like Molly, if I have to go in for something else and they are kind of like in the area? lol Well, I wouldn't mind a nip or tuck---as long as it's nothing major, that is. lol And Molly? We may have to arm wrestle for #4. lol

Hiya Becca...Yep, bodies to die for. I wouldn't know where to start. lol Those horror stories with cosmetic stories scare the heck out of me too. If I ever did it, I'd do one helluva lot of research on the docs.

If money was no object, I'd go under the knife. Now, what do I want? Let's see... More boobage. A facelift. Liposuction on my thighs. My jawbone shaved.

Umm. I think I'll stop there.

Loving the hotties! :)

I'm terrified of doctors, much less the ones who carry knives. It's not for me.

However, my niece did have some lipo done. She was overweight for years. She worked hard--exercised, dieted--for over a year and lost like 60lbs. At the end of it all she had some extra skin and a bit of flab around the middle. Nothing she did was going to get rid of that. So, she went under the knife and she's very happy about it too. No regrets at all. I'm thrilled for her because she feels so much better about her body. She works out daily and still watches and she's managed to keep the pounds off.

So, to each his/her own!

I'm a wuss. LOL. There are actually small things I would eventually consider, but I know myself well enough that I don't think I could actually go through with them.

I've had about 20 surgeries on my stomach ( cysts ) so one day when I lose all the weight I want... I've considered a tummy tuck because I only have about 10 percent of my stomach muscles that still work ( sit ups will never tighten up that lower tummy ). The other one that tempts me is a breast reduction. I hate going bra shopping and realizing all the pretty ones...don't come in DD's unless you shop at speciality stores and ouchie on the prices I've paid for sexy bras. LOL. Plus there's that whole back problem thing. Love the pics!!!

Laurann--you know, if I wasn't so afraid of doctors, I'd consider a tummy tuck as well. Darn phobias! LOL
