What do YOU re-read?

I did a little cleaning the other day in preparation for a new television I'm getting in my office. This required my moving a bunch of books from the armoir/entertainment center into another spot. Like many of you, I have books stashed EVERYWHERE. I have them in bookcases, closets, you name it. They are everywhere! After a remodel several years ago, I bagged up two huge trash bags full of books and sent them off to a charity organization for distribution but as I went through them I found there were many I just couldn't part with. Some were yellowed with age. Others I had several copies of.

It was tough deciding which to get rid of and which to keep. A conundrum. I have favorites that I read when I need a good laugh and some that are dark and a little spooky for when I want to shiver a bit. Different styles of books to fit my mood. The thing is, there are a handful of books that I re-read on a regular basis. Some I've read so often that if I find it has been re-released, I re-buy. So today I'm listing books in my personal library that I read over and over.

Historical: Julie Garwood (all of them). I particulary love Saving Grace, my favorite. I had this one in paperback and loved it so much I've bought it twice in hardback. For The Roses (I've also bought this one twice in hardback). Remind me to be careful who I loan my books to! I have the entire Amanda Quick (aka Jayne Ann Krentz) collection of Regencies and Victorians and I re-read them on a regular basis. The Flame and the Flower by the late Kathleen Woodiwiss. This one is yellow with age as is her The Wolf and the Dove, another favorite re-read.

Funny/Sweet Stuff: Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I have all of them although Nobody's Baby But Mine is a personal favorite and I re-read it a couple of times a year. All Sandra Hill (funniest stuff ever) I have the entire Cajun collection plus all of her Vikings. Wow. I laugh until I cry. Rachel Gibson's Simply Irresistable.

Paranormal: I continually re-read Sherrilyn Kenyon's Night Play (Vane and Bride's story) along with Dream Man by Linda Howard. I can't tell you how many times I've re-bought Dream Man, it's just that good. Elizabeth Lowell's Enchanted series was awesome but Untamed (the first book) is a re-read for me.

Contemporary: Trust Me by Jayne Ann Krentz is a re-read. I love this book and have it setting near my bed so it is always handy.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing some of my re-reads here because the list is long. What are some of your favorite books to re-read? A book you would grab if your house was burning down?

If my house was burning down...I'd grab the stack by my bed plus my ereader and flash drive, LOL:) Thankfully, most of my library is already in storage!

What? If my storage unit was on fire? I'd grab the box with my classics in it...Little Women, Cherry Ames, Vicki Barr, Bobbsey Twins, and Honey Bunch. Sorry...the rest I can rebuy!

If I had extra time, I'd probasbly grab the box with Nora Roberts, James Patterson, Wagon's West, and Herman Wouk...

I'd be in deep trouble. All my books are keepers...or I don't keep them. So at 3000+, that'd be too many to cart out the door. In the last two weeks I've read through the Linda Howards,E. Lowells, J.A.Krentz and Nora Roberts. Think I'll start of Catherine Coulter's FBI series next. Then maybe J.A.Jance's two series... so many books...not enough time to read them all.

I have given away over 2000 books. 1st after divorce and moved to apt. 2nd Had condo and had to put in storage (don't like that) then moved into my small new home and my daughter told me more than once I had to get rid of the 45 boxes as there was no room for them. I gave 30 boxes to a couple opening up a new/used book store locally as we really needed it. Since then they have open store in small town near me and just opened 3rd in major city but on north side of town about 25 miles from me. I feel like I did a good thing helping them get established. What is sad as one box of keepers was sent to them by accident and I miss my Nora Roberts, Fern Michales, Catherine Coulter, etc. I do still have most of the Weekend Warriors by Fern Michales and have reread them. I have been avid reader for over 50 yrs so I have read thousands of books from pre-teen up..Retired now and trying not to buy to many but I just can't help it. LOL

What a fantastic topic! It seems that over the years books have disappeared on me, but I still remember certain ones I've read time and again.

Judith McNaught's Whitney, My Love. I adore that book!!!

I grew up reading Julie Garwood and Sandra Brown--love all their stuff.

In the last several years, I have to give the number one re-read spot to Karen Marie Moning. Namely, To Tame A Highland Warrior. LOVE me some Grimm!!!! sigh...

Other big ones for me are J.R. Ward (I like to re-read the previous books when a new one in the series comes out), Kresley Cole, Lori Foster and Shannon McKenna.
